Yes. Playa Hermosa is a quiet community without much in the way of crime. Of course, as always in Costa Rica, one should never leave anything of value in their cars or on the beach, but outside of that, as long as you take the usual precautions you take anywhere else, you'll be fine.

Check-in is 4:00 pm on February 15th and check-out is 11:00 am on February 22nd.

You should fly in to San Jose International Airport (SJO) landing before 1:30pm, the day of check-in and depart no earlier than 12:00pm on the day of check-out in order utilize the group shuttle.

One airport transfer each way is pre-arranged for groups and is included in your group price. The driver will stop at the famous Tarcoles Bridge, to see crocodiles in their natural habitat and will provide a fresh coconut water for each guest, either at the airport or upon stopping at the bridge.

For very early or late arrivals and departures, we can arrange transportation for you with one of Vida Asana's trusted drivers. The price is $120 each way. 

Yoga mats and blocks/props will be provided, but you are certainly welcome to bring your own if you prefer. And if you buy a LYT yoga mat, we will bring it down for you to save you on shipping!

Our rooms are also stocked with Raw Botanicals all organic hair and body care products.

Important: Raw Botanicals eco bottles are the property of Vida Asana. Please do not take them with you when you leave the Yoga Center.

Vida Asana has a beautiful pool, spacious sundeck with lounge chairs and umbrellas, and many hammocks.

These are favorite locations for downtimes during your retreat. Guests can relax and rejuvenate while taking in the sun or shade. We also offer, free of charge, bicycles for trips to the nearby beach and local hospitality spots.

Vida Asana is also located in Playa Hermosa, the adventure capital of Central America. There is something for everyone here! We have narrowed down the many options to include favorites that coincide well with group schedules. Transportation is included in the pricing of all pre-arranged Vida Asana excursions.

Vida Asana has an onsite concierge services and adventure planning that is included in your stay. Our staff handles all the logistics, from planning all excursions and massages to transportation to town for souvenir shopping. We also have an onsite driver, Mario, for random taxi runs and individual jaunts. Mario is an integral part of the Vida Asana family and will go the mile to see that you and your group are taken care of.

Spa

We work with a several independent therapists that offer a variety of bodywork. Upon arrival each interested person can schedule treatments during available times within the retreat schedule. Prices range from $60 - $200 depending on the treatment.

Private Sessions

Individual yoga sessions with Lara or Kristin can be booked after final payments have been received.

Gratuities for retreat staff are not included. We recommend bringing cash for gratuities.

Vida Asana does not serve alcoholic beverages, except for Sangria night. However there are several locations where guests can purchase a wide variety of options and can be stored in the mini fridges in guest rooms. We can also have one of our drivers deliver beer, wine, etc per request.

There is no need to buy plastic bottles of water, just bring your favorite water bottle and refill at our filtered water station. All water on the property goes through five filters before reaching the rooms and kitchen, and then continues through a diverse filtration process complete with restoring any beneficial minerals pulled out during the filtering, before reaching our water station.

During your stay, Vida Asana will provide three meals per day, as well as a welcome snack upon arrival, and one sangria night. Our food at Vida Asana was created with a healthy lifestyle as the inspiration. Every menu item is created using whole, and as often as possible, organic ingredients. Our food is gluten free, and primarily plant-based, with eggs and yogurt at breakfast, and fish served at dinner every second night. All allergies or dietary needs are easily accommodated.

Credit cards are accepted at Vida Asana, with a 4% processing fee for any activities not included in your retreat, such as excursions and spa treatments. While cash is preferred, credit cards are accepted at Vida Asana. There are secure ATMs near, if you do not want to travel with cash, and many local businesses accept credit cards.

Costa Rica’s official currency is the Colón. The exchange rate average is roughy 550 colones to the dollar. However, US dollars are generally accepted in all areas save for some smaller pueblos. If you do spend US dollars, keep in mind that you will receive your change in colones. It is recommended that you bring denominations of $20 or less as higher denominations are often not accepted in local shops and markets. It is not recommended to change money at the airport.
